Flacattack is a command line tool that was designed to simplify the CD ripping and encoding process. It can be used in conjunction with Flac and Exact Audio Copy as well as other tools to give the ability to do the following:
- Rip and encode a CD to either a flac image and cue sheet combination or to individual flac files with a cue sheet.
- Additionally encode to lossy files. Currently mp3, mpc, ogg, and aac are supported.
- Create a custom directory structure in which to store your files. (i.e. C:\music\"Artist" - "Album"\)
- Embed cue sheet and/or log file in flac image file.
- Apply replay-gain to encoded files.
- Choose custom replacement characters for illegal Windows filename characters (i.e. "|", "*", ":", etc).
- Fix file references in cue files.
- Rename flac, cue, and log files.
